Summit Yoga offers yoga programs for every “body” and since no two bodies are alike, no two practices are alike. Each yoga class allows students to practice at their level, teaches modifications, and uses props for proper alignment and safety in practicing poses. Each day is a new day, which brings with it new and old concerns. In each practice, we take notice of how these concerns affect our bodies. This knowledge and awareness is used in the practice to let go of expectations we have for ourselves. Therefore, our “summit”, our peak performance, is different each day. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves in their practice in order to reach their “summit”. When we take time to honor our bodies, we find renewed energies not only physically, but also mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. |

Laura is training with Matthew Sanford and offers adaptive yoga, which is a specialized yoga program, designed for those with physical disabilities and mobility limitations.
With a Masters Degree in Education, and 25 years as a Special Education Teacher/Coordinator and a private tutor, Laura draws on her professional teaching experience and her natural abilities to connect and guide yoga students of all ages and abilities gently towards their personal “summit”. She strives to build self-confidence in their practice in a non-competitive and non-judgmental environment.
For several years, Laura’s personal fitness routine included jogging, health clubs, and aerobics. Following a diagnosis of a deformed vertebra in her lumbar spine and scoliosis, she began to search for a fitness option that would provide the benefits of her past workouts without the risk of injury. Her first yoga experience was followed by frequent practices. Yoga became a vital part of her overall fitness routine. Laura’s love for yoga and its benefits blossomed to a passion to guide others in their yoga practice as a yoga teacher. It was this passion that led to the establishment of Summit Yoga.
